This article aims to explain the reception and reassessment of Aristotle’s phi-losophy of time during the first century BCE by Pseudo-Archytas, a thinker who exercised great influence over and laid the groundwork for Neopythag-orean and Neoplatonist philosophies of nature. The article scrutinizes Pseu-do-Archytas’ theory by examining his solution to the paradox of time’s ex-istence. Through a comparative analysis of Aristotle’s and Pseudo-Archytas’ discourse, it seeks to demonstrate that their theories, despite apparent simi-larities (associated with their overall approach to the subject matter, the terms utilized in discourse, etc.), exhibit different philosophical underpin-nings and are in many ways antithetical.
